Thinking about thinking
Thinking about thinking. What does that mean in the end? It’s an endless conversation which leads nowhere. It’s mostly awareness and understanding that whatever worry we have inside, it’s simply fruit of disconnection of thoughts. And frustrated comparisson.
We all know the theory, but why is it so hard to live what we preach? It’s a game we play with ourselves, this thing called life. We are so attached to how people make us feel and to the idea of the person we want to become, we forget to become. We look sideways looking for a quick way out and we get lost in the search for something bigger.
That something bigger is not associated with external validation nor vanity metrics, but we seem to believe it to be so. It makes no sense to look for a pink waterfall when we should be flying in blue unicorns. We look at influencers and think their lives are perfect, forgetting they only share what they want to share (AKA the highlights).
I am convinced the more famous you are, the richer, more accomplished you are, the harder it is to be happy. You have more to think about, considering you cannot outsource a big slice of your daily tasks, and by having more to think about, you have less mental space to live in the present moment, the only place on earth you should be living in.
Finishing up with this quote on life from Ready Player One that gives me hope: “"No one in the world gets what they want and that is beautiful.”
