Human definition
Despite having so much in common, each one of us is one single entity. It’s written in our genes, in our chemical composition, in the union of X with Y or with another X. The difference is notable. Being able to differentiate sexual organs sounds like the most obvious thing in the entire world. That single fact already limits you in some contexts. Even more, if you are born with something you don’t want to have, but that’s another issue.
When we go into the topic of relationships, people we love or develop a certain degree of empathy towards are determined by an emotional reaction. It has to do with the chemical connections you develop in your brain and which you can’t label.
There were several tests being done with respect to this subject. Those were aimed to determine up to which point our relationships were defined by nothing more than a chemical reaction. Several people have undergone two different scenarios. On the first one, they were peaceful. On the second one, they were scared. In both cases, they collected their sweat and asked independent judges to smell it. When those judges smelled the sweat of people in a scary situation, without knowing the context, they developed feelings of fear as well.
We are conditioned to different levels of existence without noticing it, whether more intrinsically or unconsciously judging someone by their traits and/ or facial expressions. Being aware of our limitations gives us a superpower.
